GABF Meet-Up & Membership Drive

As GABF week beckons, I was struggling to find a new place for our 3rd annual meet and greet on Saturday night. In a fit of exasperation, I reached out to Lisa Zimmer (see this month's All About Beer cover) and  it is my great pleasure to announce our annual North American Guild of Beer Writers GABF Meet-Up & Membership Drive. On Saturday, October 4, the good folks from Blue Moon Brewing at Coors Field (formerly SandLot) will again host us for a little get together beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. The Blue Moon Brewery is located at 22nd and Blake Streets.

Since it was last minute, this year there will be no pizza. So if you're hungry, feel free to bring your own comestibles. And maybe a little to share, if you're feeling generous or don't want others staring at you and drooling while you eat.

Directly after the event at Blue Moon ends at 9, we'll be on our own, and if there's enough interest, there's plenty of nearby spots we could move the party to, but we'll wait until Saturday night to make that decision.

 

There's no need to RSVP, just come on to down Blue Moon. As this is not only an opportunity for the members to get together, but also a membership drive, we'd like to encourage any beer writers who are not currently members to join us, too. If you have any literary friends and colleagues who have not yet joined the NAGBW, or used to belong and let their membership lapse, please invite them to come and drink with us, no strings attached. We simply hope they'll have such a great time that they won't be able to resist becoming a member again, or for the first time.
